I am so lucky. I was presented the choice of Oasis and Virgin Atlantic. Being a long supporter for Virgin Atlantic’s frequent flying club, I chose to fly Virgin Atlantic. To be honest, I wouldn’t have choice Oasis even if I was not affiliated with Virgin Atlantic.
Anyway, there are 10 direct flights from London to Hong Kong a day - 3 BA, 1 Virgin, 3 Cathay, Air New Zealand, Qantas and Oasis. So I guess the business model of Oasis just didn’t work. I can’t say any of us are surprised. But one criticism is that the way Oasis conducted its bankruptcy is a bit unethical, leaving its customers stranded at HKIA without any way to go back. On its website, its still promoting a Student bundle.
