So, as part of defining where I want to head for my career, I have been thinking about my long term aim or values as a human being. I’ve been thinking about the core values I hold and what I want my legacy to be. I realised I’ve been more and more pulled towards ideas propagated by icons such as Muhammed Yunus, the Nobel Peace Prize winner for his push for microfinancing in Bangladesh, and yesterday I came across Dambisa Moyo after talking to my Nigerian friend. I realised if there was one thing I want my career to achieve for me it’ll be to be able to make a real difference to the elimination of poverty. Frankly speaking, being in the Engineering world would not give me the leverage to do this, for this reason I need to start looking into the Corporate world.
