New Blog: Tariqa al-Haqq

So I have decided to transfer all my Islamic posts into my main domain, www.kamilshah.net. It used to be my photoblog. But since I hardly blog anything on there, I thought I would just keep all my photos on Flickr and Facebook and use this personalblog for my day-to-day updates on more personal issues which would be more of an interest to my friends and family. I have chosen the name of my new blog to be called Tariqa al-Haqq which in my mind means the path of truth in Arabic.

I have just moved it by categories, so I am sure there will be posts which exists here but not there. But anyhow, feel free to follow that blog too.

As my blog becomes more and more popular especially amongst my Muslim friends, I think it is time I start an Islamic blog where I can feel more free to write on issues around Islam in a more scholarly fashion and have people come on and challenge some of the views. I feel my thinking cap tinkling and it’s time I put it into action. I shall start an Islamic blog soon inshaAllah and I will publicise it here, and perhaps keep this one for less religious topics. I apologise to all my non-Muslim friends who feel that my blog has become preachy and irrelevant. Sometimes I feel like I myself have become quite irrelevant.

Hong Kong – delayed

I’m seriously considering delaying my trip back to Hong Kong…I am really psychologically tired to deal with everything which will be thrown at me with my trip there. I just want some time alone. Perhaps I will go back in the summer instead.

Thanks to Vincent who helped me upgrade this to V3.0.1. I decided to revamp my site. Its not totally done yet, but this is a start. Will look into restarting my photoblog soon as soon as I get my Flickr account set up properly.

As you probably noticed, the site has been changed quite drastically. There are still small bits here and there which need fixing. I have changed the name of the blog from Summit Trail to Wanderer. Wanderer is inspired by the title of a book of one of my favourite authors, Chaim Potok, which outlined the history of the Jews. Although I am a Muslim and as much as I sympathise with the whole Palestinian cause, I relate to the difficulty of living as a diaspora. I don’t have a promised land, and I guess I am just a wanderer, wondering on…with life.

Well, just my exams - still got project. I am going to peak district by myself tomorrow. I told a couple of people about it and they seemed so shocked and told me that I must find a travel buddy. Too bad, I tried but no one is free, so I am going to take my baby D40, a Milan Kundera book, my new noise cancellation headphones and some sandwich with dutch cheese and head to Derbyshire on a 10:30am train from St Pancras. Will be back on Wednesday night.

Too much happening in London, I need to get away for a couple of days. Then I will finish off my FYP. The world is my oyster now

I just want to thank all my friends who have chosen to stay neutral in this whole incident. I want to express my gratitude for trusting me as a person and seeking out the truth in every bit of allegations which were made against me. I want to deplore any individuals who try to wipe down my name in front of my friends, despite how unsuccessful it is, I still want to express my greatest detest in such actions.

I believe actions speak louder than words. I have done my bit to stop the distractions which has been caused to this individual, and I hope she stops de-faming me and my house mates for such trivialities.

Today is my grandmother’s funeral. I hope that she rests in peace. Too many bad things happening lately. I am glad that exams will be over soon.
