  Diesel Vs Petrol

  Most people will say being an environmentalist probably mean you don’t buy a new car. But I did. I chose the Toyota Yaris, a small toyota car which boasts great fuel economy and low emission. The yaris I chose was the Petrol 1.3 VVT. But only after doing some research today did I find that diesel is the less polluting in terms of CO2 emission. The same car on a 1.4 4D-D Diesel engine produces 30g/KM less CO2 than mine!! That means lower road tax and greater fuel economy!! So I called up the sales, but it was too late to change. The thing with diesel vehicles is that it produces more pollutants but less CO2. Anyway, I am looking forward to receive the car on the 12th.

  I’m reading this book. Its a good read - but he’s not answering the questions I want answered. Perhaps its not made for someone like me, but a white person from America who has much more concern about the meaning of the American dream.

  “Excuse me, sir, but may I be of assistance?
  Ah, I see I have alarmed you.
  Do not be frightened by my beard.
  I am a lover of America…”

  So speaks the mysterious stranger at a Lahore cafe as dusk settles. Invited to join him for tea, you learn his name and what led his speaker of immaculate English to seek you out. For he is more worldly than you might expect; better travelled and better educated. He knows the West better than you do. And as he tells you his story of how he embraced the Western dream - and a Western woman - and how both betrayed him, so the night darkens. Then the true reason for your meeting becomes abundantly clear…

  Its a good read I must say. Still half way through it. But its a good read, a good indication of what everything is really like - a good way to put our lives into perspectives, especially those of us who have chosen to embrace the western lifestyle. Perhaps it will shed light on what it is that is also so repelling about this life we are seeking for.
